President’s Note 2024

To All:

I would like to take this opportunity to say how much Centervile Chamber of Commerce has meant to me.
In 2012 when Mrs. Beth Rodell asked me to take part in the Chamber. I said “Sure”! She wanted me to take her place because she had been dedicated to the Chamber with serving a long termed position and was ready to retire. She was very sincere with serving volunteer hours. She said “I want you to carry on what several ladies and I had started many years ago.” (Big shoes to fill!)

I jumped in and truly have enjoyed every minute of it! It’s the small part that we can do for the community and to keep Centerville extra special from all other places. I have been honored to be a member, volunteer and director. Had so many great volunteers that has been committed to stay with the Chamber and own/work their own businesses. It takes a team and every part matters! And with that it is successful! You have all been the best!

Thank each of you that has stood behind me as President these past years. Never hesitated on ideas, changes and challenges through all the meetings. I ask that you continue and promote businesses, adjust to the new and remember how this little town got started. History is what made it happen and makes it the “Deerest Place in Texas!”

In closing I would like to share this:

The HEART of a VOLUNTEER is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of others.

Sincerely,
Karen Ellis -President/Past

Lauren Tuxen, everyone looks forward to working with you and following your vision for this next chapter.
